Why a standby unit is a different thing entirely
Most people who buy a standby generator have already lived through a week with a portable one.

What size generator do I need?
It depends what you want running. Some people want the whole house, others just the essentials plus one air conditioning system.
We do a load calculation rather than guessing from square footage, because two houses the same size can need very different units.
Will it run my air conditioning?
If it is sized for it, yes. AC is the single biggest load in most Florida homes, so it is the first thing we ask about and the main reason sizing matters.
How long can it run?
On natural gas, as long as the gas keeps flowing. On propane, it comes down to tank size and how much load you are carrying. We will work that out with you before you choose a tank.
How often does it need servicing?
Annually. A standby generator spends most of the year sitting still, and that is exactly why it needs looking at.
The failures we get called out to are almost always units that have never been serviced.

Do you handle permits?
