Does solar actually make sense in Florida?
The sunshine is not the question. What decides it is your roof, how much shade you have, how much power you use and when you use it.
Those vary house to house, which is why we look before we quote rather than after.
What about hurricanes?
Solar mounting has to meet Florida wind load requirements, and that is part of the permitting process rather than an optional extra.
Worth asking any installer how they attach to your specific roof type, and worth checking with your insurer before you sign anything.
Does my roof need work first?
Sometimes. Panels last decades, so putting them on a roof with a few years left in it means paying to remove and reinstall them later. We will flag it if that is the situation.
What incentives are available?
Incentive programs and utility rules change, and the honest answer is that anything printed on a brochure may already be out of date.

Will solar keep my power on during an outage?
Not on its own. A standard grid tied system shuts down when the grid goes down. Keeping power on requires battery storage or a standby generator, and we can talk you through both.
